The case study on sustainable management of waste for the Pátio Victor Malzoni Building, a project managed by CBRE, was a highlight of the Condominium Property Managers Lecture Circuit, an event held by SECOVI-SP on June 27th.
Flávio Engel, CBRE Building Manager, shared the excellent results of the EcoMalzoni Program – Waste Management with other condominium property managers in the city of São Paulo. Implemented in the Pátio Victor Malzoni Building in October 2015, the program aims to reduce waste, increase awareness and get condominium users involved regarding the importance of recycling.
One of the initiative's achievements was the opening of the first underground garden in Brazil, which uses organic waste generated by the building. Underneath the building itself, the material is transformed into fertilizer by a composting system. The production of mint, basil, lettuce, rosemary and thyme is distributed among the tenants and visitors.
